Each separate piece should have a tag / sticker on it telling you the specs. on it including the weight. If you still have the original manual or get the i.d. # off it and check the website of the maker or even just call them you can find out. Then add it all up. If you need to be pretty darn accurate you’re going to want to consider the fuel in their also. The easiest way to do that may be to just to pump it all out.

IT is a 1971 Ford 4500 series tractor and i drove it home and it went in reverse 1 time and now i can only get it to go forward it will not back up any ideas on what the problem may be or where i could go to get some ideas/answers

I have a ford diesel backhoe its a 60 ish model and one of the rams that moved the bucket on the back side to side broke a while back and we never fixed it so we started up the backhoe and moved it to the back we turned it of and took off the bucket and arm assembly the entire unit including the seat and controls for the backhoe part. so after we took it off we tried to start it and it wouldnt start we worked on it for about a week and gave up because it wouldn't start. Its now been 3 to 4 years and we started to work on it and it still wont start what can we do? any help will be appreciated
i want serious answers it 40 some odd years old we took of the back and it wont start
also it turns over
it wouldnt start as soon ans we took the hoe part off

The problem breaks down to 4 problems with any diesel:
1. Air lock on the injectors
2. Lack of fuel to the injectors
3. Lack of compression to the cylinders
4. Failure of the timing system.
To start the unit, loosen each injector, and be certain that fuel is reaching the cylinder, insert a lube oil in each cylinder to help build compression, then when the engine is turning and all of these points are coverered, inject a small amount of diesel start in the air intake as the engine is spun. If this doesn't work, check the E-stop and try again, if that still fails to start, then a mechanic should be called who specializes in the brand.

Before buying a backhoe loader or backhoe parts, you need to understand how this type of machinery works and its history. This knowledge will increase your chances of finding a supply/supplier that suits your needs. Did you know that depending on the country these machines are called: backhoe, loader backhoe, backhoe loader, rear actor, back actor, forkcranes , JCB and many other names?

There is a debate of what a backhoe is. Most experts agree that a backhoe is an articulated arm that pulls earth, which can be attached to a variety of vehicles (often tractors). Whereas the backhoe loader is a vehicle with a backhoe already attached to it.

The term backhoe is often misleading as the articulated arm is often located on the front of the vehicle. The word “back” in the term “backhoe” was chosen because of the back-towards-the-machine action, which is backwards from the way steam shovels and other machines work. The fact that backhoes are often mounted on the back of a tractor is just a coincidence.

To add to the confusion, in the UK and Ireland backhoes are often known as JCBs. This is because the first backhoe loader was created in 1953 by Joseph Cyril Bamford (founder of JCB). It was a very simple machine made up of a farm tractor equipped with both a backhoe and a front-mounted loading bucket. Joseph holds the honour of being the only non-American in the US construction industry’s Hall of fame.

Regardless of the terminology that you use, backhoe parts and attachments can be classified in 8 main groups:

It is probably the best backhoe part in the market. This part is similar to a jackhammer but much bigger. Grapple: is a hook or claw used to pick materials or dirt.
